This is a full day in the field practicing rock skills. Held at Horsethief Butte, you'll get the opportunity to apply the skills you learned indoors on actual rock. The day will include movement basics, belaying, rappelling, traversing, fixed line travel, and more.

Activity Notes

Assistants setting up climbing stations will arrive at 7:00 a.m.

Students will arrive at 8:30am.

Please note and arrange your arrival to Horsethief accordingly: We are limited to 20 parking spots at Horsethief and thus some may likely have to shuttle from Crawford Oaks Trailhead, which is 0.8 miles east of Horsethief on Hwy 14. A Discover Pass is also required at Crawford Oaks Trailhead. Check out the prospectus (link below under Leader Notes) for information about purchasing a Discover Pass.

The official session will wrap by 3:30pm.
