The Irish Cabin Peaks (named for a cabin the Mountaineers maintained on Mowich Lake until 1978) are a group of satellite peaks located north and west of Mt. Rainier inside the national park of the same name. There are some 24 official peaks in the group - the highest of which being Observation Rock (8364ft) and Echo Rock (7870ft) rising above the Flett Glacier. While there are many traverse variations that can be made throughout this area, this version will include two aforementioned high points, plus Fay Peak, Mt. Pleasant, and Hessong Rock on a loop from Mowich Lake. The scenery throughout this area is absolutely top-notch with incredible views throughout of the crowned king of the Cascades. Expect incredible wildflower displays in season.
