Mt. Shasta, Wintun Ridge

This route takes a seldom traveled but moderate line up the east face of this great volcano. A nice alternative to the dog route on the south side. Weather and fitness are often the deciding factors of success on Shasta. If you want to tune up for Rainier, this is a good choice and often has better and more predictable weather.
