This peak is near Eldorado Peak, Cascade Pass, and the town of Marblemount. An ascent of Hidden Lake Peak is a wonderful introduction to the joys of climbing in the North Cascades, especially for non-climbers, and experience climbers will also find some appeal. The popular scrambling route is via the north ridge from Sibley Creek Pass. The ridge is described in popular hiking guides as a "moderate rock scramble," but it's pretty easy going over big granite blocks, ledges, and slabs. You might manage the ascent without the use of hands, but it is great fun to vary the route by climbing the many short chimneys, cracks, slabs, and corners along the ridge.
