History adventure nerd Sándor Lau walked in the footsteps of the pioneers and native people to make Sándor's Oregon Trail: The Barlow Road. Without dying of dysentery. He followed the most perilous path of wagon train emigrants, the 120 miles of the Barlow Road from The Dalles in the Columbia Gorge, to the fertile Willamette River Valley in Oregon City. On the way, Sándor met pioneer and mountain man reenactors, native people living their traditions, and discovered how the West was fun. The feature documentary of this journey is a work in progress. This presentation will include video clips, photos, and Sándor's stories of the journey of 500,000 lifetimes. Sándor grew up playing the Oregon Trail Video game in school and still feels relieved he made it without perishing of pestilence, rattlesnakes, or high-velocity lead-poisoning.
