In 2014-2015 we created a plan to protect the mountain environment that includes the development of an organization-wide policy agenda. This effort focuses on two areas of public policy: outdoor recreation access issues such as Madrone Wall and Beacon Rock, and conservation issues such as logging of national forests and new wilderness designations.

The lack of a unified voice speaking to decision makers at all levels of government and the outdoor recreation industry is problematic. We need to bring community leaders together to work on a more coherent conservation and outdoor recreation policy. To address this issue, we began developing partnerships to build a more successful environmental and recreation movement in the Pacific Northwest and nationally.
