The East Zigzag Mountain (Cast Lake) trail on Mt. Hood offers a challenging but rewarding hiking experience in the Mt. Hood National Forest.

Activity Notes

Lots of switchbacks along a forested ridge. Lunch on the summit where we enjoy close-up

views of Mt. Hood as well as fine views of Burnt Lake and Mt. Jefferson in the distance.

12.4 miles with an elevation gain of 3100'.
