Hike the Mazama Trail to the Timberline Trail and then hike the Eden Park loop. Visit Cairn Basin and ford Ladd Creek twice. Abundant flowers in mid to late summer. Important: Drive to the trailhead via Hood River to avoid very rough roads.

Activity Notes

Come celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Mazama Trail and the thousands of hours of hard work Mazama members have invested  since 1990 in reclaiming and maintaining this trail accessing some of the premier meadows on Mt. Hood!

Leader of the reclamation project and Mazama legend Ray Sheldon will be on hand to share his stories of the early seeds of the idea and early work on the trail leading to its reopening in 1994  after long abandonment.

Post-hike refreshments and snacks at the trailhead will be provided by Mazamas.

We will meet at the MMC at 6:30 AM to carpool to the trailhead. High-clearance vehicles recommended but not required.
