Mazamas — For the Love of Mountains
The Mazamas has a long history of exploration, research, and conservation. Since our inception we have stated that one of our primary purposes was
"... to explore mountains, to disseminate authoritative and scientific information concerning them, and to encourage the preservation of forests and others features of mountains in their natural beauty.”
This mission of exploration, research, and conservation are now carried out partially through the distribution of grants to qualified individuals and institutions who share these goals.
