Activity Notes

The Timberline trail is a difficult multi-day backpacking hike that covers 40 miles and 9000 ft of elevation gain. There will be multiple river crossings and applicants should be in good shape with previous backpacking experience. We will start and end at the Timberline lodge trailhead traveling clockwise around the trail. This is a 3 day, 2 night treck so be prepared to pack light and move steadily throughout the day with few breaks.

That being said, the Timberline trail is a fantastic hike offering striking views of Mount Saint Helens, Mount Rainier, Mount Adams, Mount Jefferson, the Three Sisters and Mt Hood. We will travel through a number of radically different landscapes from Ramona falls will it's lush greenery and low elevation to the rocky terrain of Gnarl Ridge.
