Molly "Hopper" Mosenthal
Summer Camps Manager

Since 2017, Molly manages Mazama Wild camp programs, as well as Mazamas Youth Outreach programs and Mazama Mountain Science School. She came to the Mazamas with a BA in Geography & the Environment and a BA in Spanish from the University of Denver. She has spent her time adventuring, studying, and teaching environmental education across North and South America and Europe. In Colorado, she was Assistant Field Coordinator with Thorne Nature Experience before leaving the sunny Colorado Plateau for the not-so-sunny Northwest. In her spare time, she enjoys skiing, hiking, swimming in chilly mountain waters, and learning new things.

Lisa "Willow" Ahrens
Day Camp Site Supervisor

Lisa was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. She has a BA in Recreation Administration from San Diego State University and has directed outdoor experiential camp programs for over 20 years in Washington, California, Colorado, and New Mexico. Lisa can now add Oregon to her list as she joins Mazama Wild this summer as our Overnight and Education Coordinator. Lisa has an extensive background in creative programming for children and is excited to share her love of camp with our kids and staff. She loves the outdoors and enjoys hiking and camping with family and friends. During the year, Lisa is a Special Education Para Educator for Evergreen Public Schools in Vancouver, Washington.

Hannah "Hamster" Crosfield
Day Camp Exploration Guide

Hannah was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. She recently completed her first year at PCC, studying to become an EMT. Hannah loves anything and everything that has to do with camp. Throughout high school she volunteered as a Student Leader for MESD Outdoor School. She enjoyed teaching sixth graders about animals, leading games, and leading songs at campfire each night. At Mazama Wild, she runs Extended Care and supports counselors in the field with any surprises that come up. Hannah is super excited to be returning for her third year of fun at Mazama Wild.

Scout "Snowberry" Arnone
Day Camp Counselor

Scout is originally from Sisters, Oregon but has lived and hiked all over the west coast from Seattle to Los Angeles. She just finished her degree in Natural Resources - Wildlife at Mount Hood Community College, and is excited to combine her love of recreation and fun with science and ecological responsibility. She volunteers at Audubon's Wildlife Care Center and is big into bird watching! She has worked in Outdoor Education on and off for the last 11 years, teaching everything from horseback riding, to tree identification, to how to sing very loudly and off-key around a campfire. This is her first summer with Mazama Wild, and she is pretty sure it's going to be the best summer ever!

Katie "Aspen" Coyne
Day Camp Counselor

Katie was born and raised in Vail, Colorado, where she grew up skiing, hiking, and camping with her family. Currently she is studying Environmental Studies at Lewis and Clark College. She love going up to Mt. Hood to ski during the winter and going backpacking and exploring in the warmer months in Portland. She has never lived in the Pacific Northwest during the summer, so she is excited to get to experience that!

Colleen "Tumbleweed" 
Dorfler

Day Camp Counselor

Colleen is originally from Geneva, Illinois. She grew up there and made her way west for college at the University of Wyoming where she received a BA in Geography and Environment & Natural Resources. Throughout college, Colleen spent her time exploring the outdoors in Wyoming and its border state, Colorado. After finishing college, she moved to Oregon and has spent the past year working at Oregon Afterschool for Kids, where she has indirectly worked with afterschool programs statewide. She has spent additional time working as an environmental educator and as a craft shop instructor and is excited to continue working with kids! This is Colleen's first summer at Mazamas and she is looking forward to what this summer will bring!

Rachel "Redwood" Davis
Day Camp Counselor

Rachel was born and raised in Portland. She graduated in the spring of 2019 from Quest University in Canada, receiving her Bachelor of Arts and Science with a focus on art psychology. When Rachel was not studying at university you could find her climbing, mountain biking, painting, or skiing. One of her favorite courses was the "sociology of skiing" because she spent 10 days backcountry skiing and also received avalanche I and II certifications. She also loved "biodiversity of BC". She has always loved teaching and spending time with kids in nature or making art. She worked as an art instructor and has spent that last year teaching swimming and working as a behavioral therapist with kids with autism. In her free time during the summer you can find her hiking, trail running, climbing, biking, or backpacking. This will be her first summer at Mazama Wild and she is looking forward to it!

Henry "Sequoia" Axon
Camp Intern

Henry is currently a sophomore at Cleveland high school, in the mandarin immersion program. He enjoys climbing, hiking, and a good book! This will be Henry’s first year with Mazama Wild, and he is super excited to have some fun at camp this summer.
