Middle Pyramid is part of the Three Pyramid peaks system, highly sculpted by past glacial activity. This hike starts at the base of a cirque valley and climbs by switch backs through a Douglas fir forest to the peak, which provides a 360 degree view of the surrounding country, including Mt. Hood, Mt. Jefferson, Mt. Washington, Three-Fingered Jack and the Three Sisters (the latter peaks close in).
