Activity Notes
Public and behind-the-scenes hikes in the John Day Fossil Beds, hiking past fossil trees and nut beds formed by long-ago lahars. Your leader is an amateur geology aficionado who will leave you with a richer understanding of what we're looking at. One bonus of this hike is dramatic skies. There's one crux move that will require use of hands. Meet at Gateway.
