Steep Snow & Ice Virtual Information Night

Please join us May 22, 2024 to learn more about the 2024 Steep Snow & Ice Skill-builder. There will be a short presentation about the skill-builder as well as photos of the fun we have on the Eliot Glacier. Members of the SSI team as well as past students will also be available to field questions.

SSI is designed to take an ICS graduate or equivalently trained climber and develop their movement skills and judgment so that they can safely start to climb in steeper snow terrain that may have some short sections of alpine ice on it.

Applications for SSI will be open June 1-23. Classes will be held at the MMC on August 6, 8, 14, and 21, and students will participate in a single weekend field session (August 17–18 and August 24–25 options). The cost is $300 for members and $375 for non-members.
